disclaimer: this is probably not the best way to go about things, but it's the way i do it. if i've made any mistakes, or something isn't clear, please do correct me or ask questions.

i divided this walkthrough into the traditional work and the digital work. this is the traditional part.

kind of a sequel to the walkthrough i did for "circle": [link]

Do you have a stencil or anything that you made yourself so your page sizes are adequate for lulu or do you just make a border the width of your ruler all the way around? I've been planning to start a comic for a long time but I'm rather paranoid about the proportions of my pages.

well, when i'm drawing it, i just make a border the width of my ruler around the page. when i do all the digital stuff, then i have a template file which i know is the right size for lulu, and i fit the scanned image into it.

you can start a project on lulu and choose the best book size to fit your pages, and then they'll tell you the exact dimensions they want. you don't have to upload any pages straight away, the project will just sit there and wait.

i would say that if you're going to use lulu, then you don't want to do comics which go all the way to the edge of the page or that need bleed. it CAN be done, but it's a pain in the ass to get it right with lulu, and you'll probably have to go through several digital and printed proofs before it's perfect. especially if you do it like me and upload it page by page, rather than doing the PDF yourself.

I was in love with my dip inking until my bottle of ink secretly decided to be broken. I swirled my bottle to get it all ready to go and the cap spit stuff up like a fat baby. I was really glad it just got all over my table and not all over me.

I absolutely love your comic. It's so beautifully drawn with such detail and seeing your process makes me love it even more!

Some questions:
1. Do you ink with a brush for everything?
2. What sizes if so, or what else do you use?
3. What brand and type of ink do you use?
4. What are the regular dimensions of your pages?
